Milk and Honey: Witness
Using pigmented pulp, Samour draws the contours of Israel, the Palestinian territories, and encroaching settlements. The cartographic shapes are mirrored and mounted to the wall with specimen pins–the various territories treated as biological specimens. The work critically investigates the meaning of shape/land/form as a malleable, movable, biological and political construct, while holding and celebrating the Palestinian people.
